Trip to the air museum

We visited our local air museum. I love museums and as a kid used to spend summer afternoons hanging out at our town's museum. Over the years I have dragged all the kids to museums and every time I visit this museum I  have a deep appreciation for the hours of volunteer time that it take to run a museum of this size but the restoration amazes me! We had the chance to speak to a volunteer that was working on restoring one of the planes that he estimates will take 20 years to finish! Some of the pictures show the state of the planes when the museum acquired them and then the finished project is astounding!
They have a virtual tour on the website.
"The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum is Canada’s only museum dedicated solely to preserving the history of those who trained and fought for the British Commonwealth during WWII. The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum is proud to be one of the six Manitoba Signature Museums, a Manitoba Star Attraction and a National Historic Site."

Always a highlight to sit in the plane!

Then we hung out at the airport. A big Hercules plane was flying low waiting to land
and we watched this plane fuel up!
 Love the vintage chairs!
